Preventative
Preventive dentistry is a collaborative effort between the patient, dentist, and dental team to protect and preserve healthy teeth and gums while preventing the development and progression of dental problems. At South Gate Dentistry & Orthodontics, we believe that maintaining excellent oral health begins at home with proper brushing, flossing, a balanced diet, and continues through regular professional dental care.
Our preventive dental services include comprehensive dental exams, professional teeth cleanings, digital X-rays, fluoride treatments, and dental sealants to help protect teeth from decay and other oral health issues. Preventive care is essential for detecting dental concerns early, reducing the need for costly treatments, and maintaining a healthy, confident, and beautiful smile for years to come.

Teeth Whitening
A whiter, brighter smile can enhance your appearance, boost your confidence, and leave a lasting impression. Professional teeth whitening is one of the most popular cosmetic dental treatments because it can dramatically improve the color of your teeth — often brightening your smile by several shades in just one visit.
We offer professional teeth whitening treatments designed to safely and effectively remove stains and discoloration caused by coffee, tea, wine, smoking, and everyday aging. Our cosmetic whitening options include both in-office whitening treatments for fast results and customized take-home whitening kits for convenient treatment at your own pace.
Unlike over-the-counter whitening products, professional teeth whitening uses advanced whitening agents and customized treatment plans to deliver faster, longer-lasting, and more noticeable results while minimizing tooth sensitivity. Our goal is to help you achieve a radiant, natural-looking smile that helps you look and feel your best.
Braces
Clear aligners, commonly known as Invisalign® or ClearCorrect®, are a modern orthodontic treatment designed to straighten teeth comfortably and discreetly. These clear, removable aligner trays are custom-made to fit your teeth and gradually shift them into proper alignment over time without the need for traditional metal braces.
Our orthodontic team will carefully evaluate your smile, bite alignment, and treatment goals to determine whether Invisalign® or ClearCorrect® is the right solution for you. While many cases involving mild to moderate crowding, spacing, and bite correction can be treated successfully with clear aligners, some complex orthodontic conditions may still require traditional braces for the best results.
With personalized orthodontic treatment planning and advanced technology, we help patients achieve straighter, healthier, and more confident smiles with comfortable and effective clear aligner therapy.

Dental Implant
Dental implants are a permanent and natural-looking solution for replacing one or more missing teeth. A dental implant acts as an artificial tooth root that is surgically placed into the jawbone beneath the gums, where it gradually fuses with the bone to create a strong and stable foundation for a replacement tooth, dental crown, bridge, or denture.
At South Gate Dentistry & Orthodontics, dental implant treatment begins with a detailed evaluation of your oral health, bone structure, and treatment goals. During the procedure, the implant is carefully placed into the jawbone. Over the following 2 to 6 months, the bone naturally integrates with the implant, creating long-term stability and support. Once healing is complete, a custom dental crown is attached to restore the appearance, function, and strength of your smile.
The overall dental implant timeline may vary depending on factors such as bone quality, bone quantity, healing time, and whether additional procedures like bone grafting are needed. Dental implants are one of the most effective restorative dentistry solutions because they look, feel, and function like natural teeth while helping preserve jawbone health and facial structure.
Root Canal Treatment (RCT)
Root canal therapy is a highly effective dental procedure used to treat infected or damaged teeth while preserving the natural tooth structure. Inside every tooth is a soft tissue called dental pulp, which contains nerves and blood vessels located within the root canals of the tooth. When a tooth becomes severely decayed, cracked, or infected, the pulp tissue can become inflamed or damaged, causing pain and increasing the risk of tooth loss.
Root canal treatment is performed to remove the infected pulp tissue, eliminate bacteria, and save the natural tooth whenever possible. During the procedure, the dentist carefully cleans and disinfects the inside of the tooth, removes the damaged pulp, and fills the root canals with a durable biocompatible material called gutta-percha. The tooth is then sealed to prevent future infection.
In most cases, a custom dental crown is placed after root canal therapy to strengthen and protect the treated tooth while restoring its appearance and function. Modern root canal treatment is safe, comfortable, and designed to relieve pain while helping patients maintain healthy, functional smiles for years to come.

Crown & Bridge
Dental crowns and bridges are durable restorative dentistry solutions designed to restore the function, strength, and appearance of damaged or missing teeth. A dental crown, also known as a cap, is custom-made to fully cover and protect a weakened tooth or dental implant, restoring its natural shape, size, strength, and appearance.
At South Gate Dentistry & Orthodontics, our dentists carefully evaluate each patient’s dental needs to recommend the most appropriate crown material based on the location of the tooth, bite pressure, durability requirements, and cosmetic goals.
Dental bridges are used to replace one or more missing teeth by anchoring an artificial tooth to the healthy teeth or crowns on either side of the gap. Bridges help restore chewing ability, improve speech, maintain proper tooth alignment, and enhance the appearance of your smile.
Once permanently bonded into place, crowns and bridges function much like natural teeth and can only be removed by a dentist or dental specialist. With proper care and regular dental visits, these restorations can provide long-lasting durability, comfort, and a healthy, confident smile.
Extraction
Tooth extractions are sometimes necessary to protect your overall oral health when a tooth is severely damaged, infected, or cannot be restored. The most common reasons for tooth extraction include advanced tooth decay, severe cavities, impacted wisdom teeth, advanced gum disease, cracked teeth, and teeth that are severely crowded, malformed, or misplaced within the dental arch.
At South Gate Dentistry & Orthodontics, our dental team carefully evaluates every treatment option before recommending an extraction. When a tooth is fractured, loose, or decayed beyond repair, removing the tooth can help prevent infection, pain, and damage to surrounding teeth and bone structure.
After a tooth is extracted, the jawbone can begin to shrink or resorb over time if the area is not restored. To help preserve the natural bone structure and support future tooth replacement options, we may recommend a ridge preservation bone graft immediately following the extraction procedure. This treatment helps maintain the shape and strength of the jawbone and can improve the long-term success of dental implants or other restorative treatments.
